GAUGE
In Stockinette stitch, 17 sts and 23 rows = 4”/10 cm

KNIT STITCHES USED
Stockinette stitch (St st): Knit side = RS
Reformed stitch: Place latch tool under stitch specified in instructions. Drop down, reform and replace on needle.

Mock Cable Edging (See Technique and Chart)
Work Cable Edge on end 5 needles; reform sts every row on needles 7, 8, 10 and 11, and every 6 rows on needle 9.

CROCHET STITCH USED
Single Crochet (sc):
Insert hook in stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook.

NEEDLES REQUIRED 92

 RIGHT BACK  

  • Using closed CO Method, CO 92 sts. COR. RC=000.
  • K to RC=117. Mark LH edge for sleeve.
  • K to RC=164.
  • BO 15 sts on RH edge for neck—77 sts rem for shoulder.
  • BO rem sts, or put on WY.

LEFT BACK
Work as for right Back, rev sleeve marker and shaping.

RIGHT FRONT

  • Using closed CO Method, CO 88 sts. COR. RC=000.
  • Beg Mock Cable patt on LH edge, using 11 ndls (9 sts); see Chart.
  • Work to RC=117. Mark RH edge for sleeve.
  • Work to RC=164.
  • Place 9 Mock Cable sts on holder. BO rem 77 sts, or put on WY for shoulder.

LEFT FRONT
Work as for right Front, rev sleeve marker and shaping as foll: keep 11 ndls (9 sts) on RH edge in Mock Cable patt, mark LH edge for sleeve, and place 9 Mock Cable sts on holder before shoulder BO.

SLEEVES

  • Using closed CO Method, CO 40 sts. COR. RC=000.
  • Beg Mock Cable patt on LH edge using 11 ndls (9 sts); see Chart.
  • Work to RC=092.
  • BO.
  • Make second sleeve in same way with Mock Cable patt on opposite side.

BACK NECK BAND
Note:
One row of Mock Cable patt was completed before putting sts on holder.

  • Hang 9 sts (11 ndls) from holder to cont Mock Cable Edge pattern.
  • Inc 1 st on edge opposite cable for selvage st—10 sts (12 ndls). COR. RC=000.
  • Work to RC=017. K 1 R.
  • BO.
  • Rep for opposite side.

FINISHING

  • Sew center Back seam.
  • Sew center Back seam on Neck band.
  • Sew Neck band to Back neck, stretching slightly.
  • Sew shoulder seams.
  • Sew sleeves in place between markers.
  • Sew side and sleeve seams.
  • Work 2 R sc on lower edge of jacket.
  • Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
  • Steam Mock Cable Edge pattern (lightly), so it measures approx 2" wide.
  • Steam sc on lower edge.
