GAUGE

In Drop Stitch Lace pattern, using USM/ISM KP#2 and MY: 18 sts and 22 R = 4”/10 cm

STITCHES USED

Drop Stitch Lace: (see technique section)

Single crochet (sc)

NEEDLES REQUIRED: 98 (98, 100, 100, 102, 102)

 BACK (worked from lower edge to shoulders)

  • Using Chain CO Method, CO 70 (74, 80, 84, 88, 94) sts. COR. RC=000.

  • K to RC=020.

  • Select ndls for Drop Stitch Lace patt (see technique section), by selecting 2 center ndls, then every foll 9th and 10th ndl on either side—7 (7, 7, 7, 9, 9) large ribs.

  • Drop sts down for patt, then cont patt for rem of piece.

  • Work to RC=074 and mark both sides for Side Panels.

  • Work to RC=120 (120, 122, 122, 124, 124).

  • BO center 32 (32, 36, 38, 40, 40) sts for neck.

  • Place rem 19 (21, 22, 23, 24, 27) sts ea side on WY for shoulders.

RIGHT FRONT (worked side-to-side)

  • Using Chain CO Method, CO 98 (98, 100, 100, 102, 102) sts. COR. RC=000.

  • K to RC=024 (026, 026, 028, 028, 032). On left side, mark this row and CO row for shoulder area.

  • Select ndls for Drop Stitch Lace patt, beg with 5th and 6th ndls on right-hand side—9 (9, 10, 10, 10, 10) large ribs.

  • Drop sts down for patt, then cont patt for rem of piece; and AT THE SAME TIME, on next R, beg shaping drape.

  • Shape Drape: Dec 1 st on left-hand side of next R, then EOR 31 times. Note: While working shaping, if end rib is on ndls # 2 and 3 from left-hand side, be sure to drop and latch that rib for the last time—66 (66, 68, 68, 70, 70) sts rem.

  • Work to RC= 088 (088, 092, 094, 096, 100)

  • Bind off (Chain).

LEFT FRONT

Work as for right Front, reversing all shaping.

SIDE PANELS (make 2 – worked from lower edge to underarms)

  • Using Chain CO Method, CO 22 (28, 30, 36, 40, 46) sts. COR. RC=000.

  • K to RC=020.

  • Select ndls for Drop stitch lace patt by selecting 2 center ndls, then ndls #6 and 7 on either side—3 large ribs.

  • Drop sts down for patt, then cont patt for rem of piece.

  • Work to RC=074.

  • Bind off (Chain).

FINISHING

  • Join shoulder seams: With RS's held tog, hang Back shoulder sts from WY on machine, with Front marked shoulder area hung on top. COR. K 1 row and BO back stitch.

  • On side Fronts, measure from lower edge up 13 1/2" and mark.

  • Sew Side Panels in place below side markers on Fronts and Back.

  • Neck Edging: With RS facing, beg at corner of right Front diagonal drape, work 1 R sc along right Front diagonal drape, around neck and down left Front diagonal drape (not Front edge); turn.

  • Work sc in ea sc across to beg. Fasten off.

  • Lower Edge and Armhole Edging: Work 2 R sc as for neck.

  • Using yarn needle, weave in ends.

  • Block to measurements and steam lightly.
