For the Wyr Knittr:

Beyond the Basics:
NEW! Cording in Cording

The cording-in-cording technique described in the instructions that come with the Wyr Knittr is done by threading a compressed cord of wire through another knitted wire cord, by using a loop turner (a long latch hook with a loop on one end--available in fabric stores). This can only be done once or twice so there is a maximum of 3 layers of cording.

New Cording-in-Cording Technique:
Here is an easier way to do the cording-in-cording technique— while you are knitting—and you can layer up to 5 strands!

1. Knit a cord in whatever color you want to be the centermost cord.
2. Compress this cord a bit by rolling it with your hands on a smooth flat surface (as if it were clay).
3. Cast on with a second color wire, and knit about 20 stitches.
4. Now insert the compressed cord into the cord you’re now knitting. Continue knitting until the cord becomes encased inside the second.

You can continue to do this as many times as the compressed cords will fit inside the cord you’re knitting. This is easier and much faster than using a loop turner. The
multiple layers of cording are exceptionally strong and create an especially soft and flexible feel to the wire, and is perfect for purse handles, watch bands, and all types of jewelry.
