Buzz, Issue #5
September 5, 2003
Free from Bond America!
Dear Friends,
Welcome again all Bond Sweater Machine(r), Magicord(r) and Wyr Knittr(tm)
owners to another issue of the "Bond Buzz" e-newsletter!!
Whats new?? Schools new
-- at least for 2003-04. Its also time to take out your Sweater
Machine to create all those back-to-school sweaters that are selling for
far too much money in the stores -- and to create those wonderful wire
chokers using your Wyr Knittr. Want to make those great picture knits?
Be sure to use your Intarsia
Keyplate. No intarsia keyplate you say? Well, its time to join
the knitting pros who cantlive without it.
Heres a tip you may not know: if you are knitting a number of scarves
as gifts or other "repetitive" projects (especially gauge swatches),
after you have knitted the 4 or 6 rows of waste yarn, knit a row of chainette
you know, the slippery rayon yarn used to make commercial tassels.
Then knit more waste yarn, the project or swatch, and continue that way
until you have completed your pieces. After you have removed your work
from the machine, pull out the chainette. Then snip the waste yarn between
the swatches or project pieces! This is how production knitters make their
knitting go faster. You can find chainette with the ribbons in the trimming
departments of most of the craft and fabric stores.
Until next time, HAPPY KNITTING!
